Hello everyone!!
Today we are reviewing A Torch Against the Night by Sabaa Tahir which is the second book in The Ember In the Ashes series. It is a YA fantasy book that was published in 2016 by HarperVoyager.
The book continues with Laia and Elias’s stories and picks up with them journeying across the Empire to fulfill Elias’s promise of helping Laia break her brother Darin out of Kauf prison and all of the problems that they face along the way.
I don't know why I haven't picked up this series earlier. The second book in the series was even better than the first one. It was more action packed and full of emotions. I love the characters and their development. We continue to learn more about the world and its fantastical beings and that is amazing.
I also liked the unexpected plot twist and I cannot wait to read the next book.
Rating: 5 Stars
Synopsis of the book:
A Torch Against the Nignt takes readers into the heart of the Empire as Laia and Elias fight their way north to liberate Laia’s brother from the horrors of Kauf Prison. Hunted by Empire soldiers, manipulated by the Commandant, and haunted by their pasts, Laia and Elias must outfox their enemies and confront the treacherousness of their own hearts.
In the city of Serra, Helene Aquilla finds herself bound to the will of the Empire’s twisted new leader, Marcus. When her loyalty is questioned, Helene finds herself taking on a mission to prove herself,a mission that might destroy her, instead.
See you in the next post and don't forget to keep reading!!!
