The Assassin's Blade (Throne of Glass #0,1 - 0,5) by Sarah J. Maas - A Review

Today's review is about The Assassin's Blade by Sarah J. Maas. It collects five novellas and it's kind of a prequel to The Throne of Glass series because it explores the past of the assassin Celaena Sardothien.

It includes:
  • The Assassin and The Pirate Lord
  • The Assassin and The Healer
  • The Assassin and The Red Desert
  • The Assassin and The Underworld
  • The Assassin and The Empire

This is the first time I read anything from Sarah J. Maas and after reading The Assassin's Blade, I think I should have done it earlier.

Back to the book now. I really liked it and I cannot wait to continue with the rest of the series. The word Assassin in a book synopsis is my weakness. I love anything to do with them and this book thankfully was no exception.
It is action packed and fast-paced and I really enjoyed the writing of SJM. Every story is griping and reveals something from Celaena's past.
I loved Sam and I think he was perfect for Celaena. Celaena on the other hand is a character that you love to hate with her flaws but also with her strength and determination. The story is making me happy at same points and at others angry and sad. The world sounds amazing and I want to explore it more.

My favourite of the five novellas is the third one, The Assassin and the Red Desert where we meet the Silent Assassins.

Rating: 4 Stars

Synopsis from Goodreads
Celaena Sardothien is Adarlan's most feared assassin. As part of the Assassin's Guild, her allegiance is to her master, Arobynn Hamel, yet Celaena listens to no one and trusts only her fellow killer-for-hire, Sam. In these action-packed novellas - together in one edition for the first time - Celaena embarks on five daring missions. They take her from remote islands to hostile deserts, where she fights to liberate slaves and seeks to avenge the tyrannous. But she is acting against Arobynn's orders and could suffer an unimaginable punishment for such treachery. Will Celaena ever be truly free? Explore the dark underworld of this kick-ass heroine to find out.

See you in the next post and don't forget to keep reading!!!
