I am so excited to be part of the City of Gold book tour that is organized by Literary Bound Tours. The City of Gold is the second book in the Eleanor Mason's Literary Adventures series by Nikki Mitchell with the first one being Nightshade Forest (you can check out my review here).
It is a middle grade portal fantasy book that released on March 30th 2021 by Poison Apple Press.

Synopsis of the book
Sometimes a magic portal can be found in ordinary things. That’s exactly what Eleanor Mason discovers when she receives a tattered book of stories from her father.
After her first adventure in the Nightshade Forest, Eleanor quickly jumps through the portal again, only to find herself standing in a field of golden wheat. When a nervous rabbit asks her to save the city from an evil imp with a magic spinning wheel, Eleanor knows she must join him on an epic adventure to solve a riddle, destroy the wheel, and save the townspeople—all before the sun rises on the city.
Can Eleanor rely on the prophecy of an ancient fairy statue to save the day, or will she run out of time and watch as her friends slowly turn to gold?
My review
The second book of Eleanor Mason's Literary Adventures was as enjoyable as the first one. It is a magical book that reads like a fairytale.
In this one we follow Eleanor in a new adventure from her book where she tries to save another magical place.
I really like the author's writing and ow at the end of the book she left the door open for more stories as well as for more information about Eleanor's magical fairytale book.

Nikki Mitchell is the American Author of Eleanor Mason’s Literary Adventures. Her debut novel, Nightshade Forest, was released in 2020, followed by City of Gold in 2021. When she isn’t writing and hanging out with her fictional friends, she is a stay-at-home mom and homeschooler to her two children Evelyn and Everett. She is married to her college sweetheart and loves spoiling her three cats.
She lives in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and is a Northern Michigan University Graduate.
