Today we are reviewing Tunnel of Bones by Victoria Schwab. This is a middle grade fantasy , that is the second book in the Cassidy Blake series. The book was published in 2019 by Scholastic.
The second book in the series takes place in Paris where Cassidy's parents are filming their TV show about the world's most haunted cities. When Cass accidentally awakens a frighteningly strong spirit, she must rely on her still-growing skills as a ghost hunter and turn to friends both old and new to help her unravel a mystery. But time is running out, and the spirit is only growing stronger. And if Cass fails, the force she's unleashed could haunt the city forever.
I really enjoyed reading Cassidy's adventures and explore some part of the haunted Paris with her. As always I loved Victoria's writing and how she set up the story. This one is darker and a little bit spookier than the first book, City of Ghosts. The stakes here are higher and the enemy is stronger.
As far as characters go, I love the friendship dynamics between Cassidy and Jacob and I really liked learning more about him. There is also an appearance of a character from book 1 that I really liked.
I highly recommend it and I am off to read book 3 , Bridge of Souls, now!
